About Margalla Hills:

Popular Hiking Trails in Margalla Hills:
Trail # 01
This trail is covered by trees along the sides. At the top of this track Pir Sohawa Road, you can reach within two hours. And by a 25 minutes walk more, you can reach the Monal Restaurant. It is one of the famous restaurants in the Margalla hills. In the start, people do hiking to reach there but now convinces available.
Trail # 02
This track started from the top of Pir Sohawa point. This is very near To Islamabad Zoo. Almost 1 to 1.5 hours are required to reach the viewpoint of Damn-e-Koh. The view of Islamabad from this point is outstanding. People love to hike and spend the evening time there.
Trail # 03
The entrenched and eminent hiking trail of the Margalla hills, Islamabad. The initial point of this track is Margalla road Sector F-6. Tough to do hiking on this track, because of the steepness of the hills. From this track, you also reach Pir Sohawa point in 2 hours. At this point, La Montana and The Monal are the two famous restaurants to spend time there. Almost 30-50 minutes, require to reach the viewpoint and then 1 hour more to grasp the restaurant. Hikers like the tough hiking to do, to reach the destination.
Trail # 04
Linking of the Trails 3 &5 is Trail 04. It is covered by long trees, which provide shadow on the track.
Trail # 05
Initiate from the Margalla Road in sector F-5. This track is easy for hiking, parallel to Track 03. The distance between these two tracks is 1-1.5meters. At the same point Trail 04 act as the link between these two tracks. You also lead to the Pir Sohawa by following this track. The time you take to do hiking at this track is almost 2.5 to 3.5 hours. It is the longest track than the previous one but easy to walk through it.
Trail # 06
Start from the Faisal Mosque in Sector E7 back and near to this one planting project is started, polled. It is almost hidden, not many people know about this and used it as an entrance. This trail is with the valley and guides you to reach the Pir Sohawa. Mountain bike tracks are also present on this trail which is an attraction for teenagers and a bird-watching point. Almost 2.5 -3 hours are required to reach the destination.
Trail #07
This trail is recently opened by the Capital Development Authority Chairman, Capt. Mohammad Usman Younis. This track starts from sector C-12 and ends at the Kanthla village. In his speech, he explains the greenery and beauty of this track. It is an almost 5 km long route and takes 2.5 -3 hours to reach the point.
Precautions to take during Hiking:
Follow the marked tracks
Don’t climb alone, have the company of someone, especially in the area where visitors are not.
Have a bottle of water with you always. After every hour drink water
Climb in the hot weather
Wear a long sleeve shirt, rubber-soled boots, and hat.
